- A Georgia man previously arrested in Canton has been convicted of soliciting a minor for sex. Daniel Horne, 30, had been arrested in Canton in June 2022 and was later indicted in his home county of Clayton in August 2022. On Feb. 3, Horne pleaded guilty to soliciting the 15-year-old victim — marking the third conviction he has obtained amid an ongoing multi-defendant case. (ValdostaToday.com)
- Woolfson Eye Institute, a Sandy Springs-based LASIK provider, plans to open an office in Canton this month. The medical team will offer consultation and surgery for LASIK and lens implants among a variety of other eye care services. Founder Jonathan Woolfson, MD, said his team is "very gratified to be delivering medical eye care to Canton residents in a brand new facility." (PR Newswire)
- After over 80 years, a local man who served during the Pearl Harbor attacks will be buried today at Arlington National Cemetery. Navy Shipfitter 3rd Class John M. Donald, who was from nearby Ball Ground, was 28 years old when he died in the line of duty. Donald is currently memorialized in the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. (Canton-Sixes Patch)
