Here are the top five stories today in Canton-Sixes:

  1. An overturned travel trailer caused some traffic and congestion on Wednesday. In the early afternoon, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services were called to I-575 southbound. The trailer shut down traffic around Exit 11. No injuries were reported; by 3:15 p.m. the roads had been cleared. (Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services)
  2. This week, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services crews engaged in an important training program. Teams from Stations 7, 22, and 24 worked on sharpening their fire apparatus operator skills. Besides enhancing old skills and teaching them new ones, the program was a great opportunity for crews to bond. The classes were held at the Cherokee County Fire Training Complex.
