  1. A local nonprofit is calling for help to save a historical Cherokee County landmark. The 250-year-old church in nearby Holly Springs is in desperate need of repairs. A group of local citizens is hoping to raise at least $55,000 for essential repairs that would enable the building to be used for services and community events again.   2. The Cherokee County Animal Shelter is in desperate need of cat food to feed its hungry felines. Although the animal shelter has an abundance of dog food, the amount of cat food being donated has been extremely low. The shelter is gratefully accepting any wet or dry cat food of any brand.   5. This Saturday, Nov. 5, the Never Alone Food Pantry Lantern Parade will be held at Etowah River Park. The event will feature a petting zoo, face painting, bounce houses, and much more.
