Man Indicted On Attempted Murder Charge In Wife's Shooting
Ronald Goss is accused of shooting his wife several times in February 2018 inside a home in Ball Ground.

BALL GROUND, GA — A Cherokee County man has been indicted on a slew of charges in connection to allegations he shot his wife during a home invasion in 2018, Superior Court records show.
A grand jury this week indicted Ronald Richard Goss on one count each of criminal attempt to commit murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, home invasion in the first degree and criminal attempt to commit arson and nine counts of aggravated battery.
Goss was arrested and charged in the February 2018 alleged attack on his wife at a home in the 200 block of Flatbottom Trail. Deputies with the sheriff's office were dispatched to the home at 5:10 a.m. Feb. 12 and while en route, they learned a person had been shot. Once deputies arrived at the home, they found Goss outside with an injury to his face, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office previously said.

While clearing the inside of the home, deputies found a woman, later identified as 48-year-old Tina Goss, suffering from a gunshot wound, the agency added. The pair were transported to an area hospital where they were treated. A spokesperson with the sheriff's office said Tina Goss "did not shoot" or cause any injuries to Ronald Goss. A preliminary investigation conducted by the sheriff's office reveals Ronald Goss, 58, "forced entry into the home."
According to the indictment, Ronald Goss shot his wife several times in the torso, arm, hand and head with a .40 caliber handgun. The shooting caused injuries to the woman's vertebrae, spinal cord, mouth, left arm, hand and fingers, and disfigured her left breast, the indictment contends. He's also accused of trying to torch a vehicle belonging to Tina Goss. That vehicle, the indictment adds, was parked inside the garage at the home.
