- Officials are searching for a man in Cherokee County who pretended to rob a Canton vape shop claiming it was "for a YouTube channel." The masked man was caught on surveillance video walking into Smoke Stars on Sixes Road pointing a gun at the clerk, demanding vape products, then laughing saying he was holding an airsoft gun. Anyone who recognizes the man at the link is asked to contact investigators at (770) 928-0239. (WSB Atlanta)
- Cherokee County School District Police Chief Buster Cushing has been named to serve on the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council. The council was formed in 1970, focusing on school safety. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brian V. Hightower said, "Chief Cushing is known statewide for his law enforcement and public safety knowledge and for how he has applied that expertise to improving school safety." (Press Release Desk)
- Cherokee High School's Elizabeth “Liz” Spell and Woodstock High School's Dr. Meagan Waid have been named Georgia Assistant Principal Of The Year Finalists. The Cherokee County assistant principals are two of three finalists for the award recognizing "outstanding school leaders who have succeeded in providing high-quality learning opportunities for students." - Gov. Brian Kemp has suspended the Georgia gas taxes for a sixth time. According to reports from AAA, the state had the lowest national gas average at $3.13 on Friday afternoon; the national average is $3.79. The suspension will last through Dec. 11. (WSAV-TV)
- National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies' Zack Wheeler has a home in Canton. The pitcher has a 9,184 square feet, seven-bedroom, seven-car garage home on Lake Allatoona. Wheeler bought the home a few years ago for $1.31 million. (Realtor.com News)
