  1. The City of Canton will host a State of the City Address by the mayor today (Jan. 19) at 6 p.m. in City Hall. The address will be followed by a City Council Meeting, where various topics will be discussed, including possible action on a charter amendment to reapportion the City Council Wards by establishing new ward boundaries, presentations on various issues, and discussion and possible action for the construction of residential development and the Canton Transportation Master Plan Adoption.   2. The Cherokee Office of Economic Development has opened an application portal for the Cherokee Small Business Grant, to assist small businesses that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic. Businesses can apply for up to $30,000 based on the number of employees, and the application portal will remain open until January 31, 2023.   3. On Tuesday, Jan. 31, the Cherokee County School District will present its next Parent University program, focusing primarily on cyberbullying and social media.
