New Ambulance Squad Placed In Service Sunday

Squad 20, a new transport unit for CCFES, was placed in service Sunday morning, Feb. 5, 2023.

Squad 20 is located at Fire Station 20 on Bells Ferry Rd. near Wyngate Pkwy. in unincorporated Cherokee County.

CCFES squads are staffed with two firefighters per shift and these units are designed to transport patients requiring emergency care to local hospitals. Like all apparatus in CCFES, these units are staffed with cross-trained personnel that are certified firefighters and licensed Paramedics or Advanced EMT’s that will respond to and mitigate emergencies such as structure fires, hazardous materials incidents, motor vehicle accidents, emergency medical calls, and much more.

This additional unit will provide faster response times and more firefighters to this area of our county.
