- On Monday, a Canton resident announced his intent to run for city council. Travis Johnson will run for the Ward 1 seat currently filled by Councilwoman JoEllen Wilson, who is not seeking re-election in November. Johnson said that if elected, he will prioritize safety, sustainability, and the needs of children and youth while taking a "well-planned and strategic" approach to growth in Canton. - Georgia's elected leaders have spoken out against the antisemitic flyers that were placed on the properties of several metro Atlanta residents. Residents in predominantly Jewish areas of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, approximately 45 minutes outside of the Canton-Sixes area, found the flyers in their driveways on Sunday morning. House Speaker John Burns, Governor Brian Kemp, Senator Sally Harrell, and Representative Esther Panich have all publicly condemned the act. (Georgia Recorder)
