New Woodstock Lions Clubs Officers Installed

NEW LIONS CLUBS OFFICERS INSTALLED

Woodstock, GA 6/26/23-- An installation ceremony was held on 6/26/23 at 7 p.m. at the Cherokee County Georgia Sheriff’s Office Picnic Annex for incoming officers of the Woodstock Lions Club. Frank Hunton was elected as the club president for 2023-2024. Hunton has been an active member of the Woodstock Lions Club for the past four years.

Karen Preston was elected to serve as the new club secretary. The club’s vice-president will be Megan Dean.

According to (Frank Hunton, Club President), “I am looking forward to leading various projects and continuing the Woodstock Lion Club’s commitment to serving the community.”

Since the club’s chartering in 1961, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as Vision Screening, contributing and working in Food Pantry’s, Adopt-a-Mile trash pickup, and helping at events for Vision Impaired. Proceeds from past fundraising events have gone to local Food Pantries, local Veterans in need, local High Schools, and Woodstock Public Safety. The club is currently conducting ongoing Vision Screenings in schools, an Elevance Food Project at St. Michael’s Food Pantry on 9/14, and a Diabetes Screening at the Canton YMCA on 11/18.

The Woodstock Lions Club has thirty-three members and meets on the forth Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at The Tavern @ Towne Lake. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
