Patriot's Day Ceremony Returns To Canton
The event will be held at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Cherokee County Public Safety Memorial.

CANTON, GA — Cherokee County's public safety agencies will host a ceremony next week honoring those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The annual Patriot's Day Ceremony will be held at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Cherokee County Public Safety Memorial in downtown Canton, which is located between the historic courthouse on North Street and the Cherokee County Justice Center. This year's keynote speaker will be Phillip Shrout.
If you can't make the morning ceremony, the city of Woodstock will host its 9/11 Day of Remembrance at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11 at the Park at City Center in downtown.

The event, which will be held on the 17th anniversary of the attacks, will honor the men and women wearing police, fire or EMS/rescue uniforms, the city said.

You will also be able to visit the city's 9/11 Memorial located at the park, which features two subway tracks recovered from beneath the World Trade Center. Woodstock will also be giving out a limited supply of 9/11 remembrance lapel pins at the ceremony.
