  1. The Cherokee County School District hosted a major networking event on Thursday. The Partner Up Networking Event featured 40 businesses and organizations throughout the Canton-Sixes area to meet, discuss work, and connect with the local school system.   2. Gas prices throughout the Canton-Sixes area rose by another three cents last week. Experts believe that if the economy slows down, gas prices could begin to drop. The national average for gas, in contrast, dropped by three cents. (Cobb County Courier)

  4. A fire on East Cherokee Drive has left two people injured. On Sunday afternoon, police responded to a call regarding a structural fire near Water Tank Road in Canton. There were three people in the building at the time. Police believe that the residents were attempting to light a stove, which caused the explosion. (11Alive)
  5. The Great Pumpkin Festival is slated to return to Cherokee Veterans Park this weekend, and it looks to be an event you won't want to miss out on. The annual fall festival will feature a DJ, craft vendors, plenty of delicious foods, archery, axe-throwing, hayrides, and so much more. The event begins at 11:00 a.m., with a costume contest at 12:30 p.m. Free shuttles to and from the festival will be available. (Play Cherokee)
