- Georgia is still struggling to deal with the bout of intense weather that has swept across the nation this week. Already the state has experienced flooding, extreme winds, and an increasing number of tornadoes. The storm is migrating towards the Northeast, where it is expected to drop around a foot of snow. - Christmas at Legacy will be holding its annual Christmas Eve services again this year. This will feature the final session in the Hope For Everyone series. There will be two services: one at the Canton campus at 3:00 p.m. and another at the Marietta campus at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. (AllEvents)
- A Canton woman has been arrested in the death of a toddler. Phillissa Diallo, 40, was arrested after police found the body of a young child in an apartment. On Wednesday, police arrived at Hearthstone Landing Drive, where a tip led them to the body of the little girl. There has been no additional information regarding the child's cause of death, or her relationship to Diallo, as of Friday. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The City of Canton Municipal Court announced that January 2023 will be Amnesty Month. This means the Court will grant pardons to people who have delinquent charges or who failed to make a court appearance. This will only apply to misdemeanor charges before January 2023. Officals hope this will help people who were unable to deal with their cases at that time due to COVID restraints and other complications. (City of Canton GA via Facebook)
- The Canton Business Club will be hosting its last Local Leader Meetup of 2023. The monthly meetings are a popular way for local business owners to connect, network, and support each other. Guest speakers will also be present to answer questions and share their own experiences. The meeting will be held at Reformation Brewery on Dec. 21. (AllEvents)
