The Service League of Cherokee County is taking nominations for their inaugural Heritage of Hope Award through March 31, 2022

The Service League of Cherokee County is accepting nominations for their inaugural Heritage of Hope Award to recognize one individual whose contributions to the Cherokee County community have a positive impact on children. Persons nominated for this award serve as a role model for compassion and service to children in need and strive to make Cherokee County a better place. He/She is passionate about children and giving them hope. The online nomination form is available HERE until March 31, 2022.

The Heritage of Hope Award will be presented during the Service League’s Gala and Benefit for the Children scheduled for April 30, 2022, at the Timbers on Etowah. The event’s presenting sponsor, Synovus Bank, has partnered with the Service League of Cherokee County for a fun evening filled with a live band, dancing, heavy hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and raffle. The Service League chose MUST Ministries as the benefactor of this year’s inaugural Gala & Benefit. Seeing the amount of homelessness in the county, they are wanting to directly impact the need for housing. To learn more about the event and purchase tickets, visit the Gala & Benefit Website.

The Service League of Cherokee County was established in 1935 and has a tradition and legacy of helping children in need. It is the oldest service organization in the county, with a membership of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year. Funds raised during events sponsored by the League provide families with day-to-day necessities such as food, clothing, dental care, eyeglasses, medical care, rental and utility assistance, scholarships and much more. Fundraisers include the Golfing Fore! the Children tournament in June, Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival in September, and Run for the Children in December.
