Here are the top five stories today in Canton-Sixes:
- Saturday will be a busy day in Canton, and there will be some delays and road closures. On Dec. 10, there will be road closures and delays from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. due to the Canton Optimist Parade in Downtown Canton. There will be detour routes posted. Officials are encouraging drivers to plan alternate routes. (Canton Police Department, GA)
- Cherokee County is getting new propane-fueled buses. Last week at the Georgia Transit Association's conference, Cats Cherokee County Director Greg Powell gave a detailed presentation on the new buses. The presentation titled, "Propane Autogas - A Pathway to Lower Emissions and Operational Savings," outlined the advantages of the new vehicles. Among the many positives the buses will bring to Cherokee County, the propane-fueled buses will reduce transit costs and provide an ecologically-friendly travel option. (Cherokee County, Georgia)
- The Canton Police Department is welcoming a new officer. Officer Eric Kilgore was recently sworn into the department by Judge Thomas A. Roach. The swearing-in of the experienced officer was performed at an official ceremony with fellow officers in attendance to welcome the new officer. (Canton Police Department, GA)

- A new coffee shop has opened in Canton. Located on West Marietta Street, Bizarre Coffee offers a fun atmosphere with some delicious coffee.
