When Does The 2nd Semester Begin In CCSD?

CANTON, GA — Students and teachers in the Cherokee County School District have been using the two-week winter break to take some time away from their obligations, and celebrate the Christmas and New Year's holidays with family and friends.

However, that precious time is about to come to an end, as the school district will soon begin the second semester of the 2018-19 school year. Here's a list of important dates for the second half of the year:

• Jan. 7: teacher planning; student holiday
• Jan. 8: first day of second semester
• Jan. 21: student holiday
• Feb. 18-19: student holiday
• Feb 20-22: potential student holiday or inclement weather makeup days (to be determined)
• April 1-5: student holiday
• May 27: student holiday
• May 29: last day of school
• May 30-31: professional learning/post planning
