  1. The Wing & Rock Festival is coming back to Canton this March! The free two-day event will be held at Etowah River Park on Saturday, Mar. 25 from 12-7 p.m. and on Sunday, Mar. 26 from 12-6 p.m. Guests can enjoy the region's most delicious chicken wings while listening to rock music and taking in the beauty of nature. The festival will also include a vendor market, a kids' zone, and a wing-eating contest. (Canton-Sixes Patch)
  2. The Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services announced that a new transport unit is now in service at Station 20, effective Sunday morning. Station 20 stands in unincorporated Cherokee County on Bells Ferry Road by Wyngate Parkway. The new squad was added with the aim of "[providing] faster response times and more firefighters to this area of our county." (Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services via Facebook)
  3. The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners will be holding its next meeting tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 6) at 6 p.m. A commissioner's work session at 3 p.m. that afternoon will precede the meeting.   4. In case you missed it: Canton's own Andrew Rosinski announced his commitment to play football for North Carolina. The offensive tackle from Creekview High signed his intent to join the Tar Heels on Jan. 31 for the team's 2024 recruiting cycle. Rosinski held a total of six reported offers. (247Sports.com)

The Canton Police Department invites you to Coffee with a Cop this Valentine's Day (Tuesday, Feb. 14) at 9 a.m. The event will be held at Whitetail Coffee Company on Reformation Parkway.
