ShawHankins Makes Fastest-Growing Co. List

A Cartersville company was one of 210 in Georgia to make a national publication's list of America’s fastest-growing private companies.

Inc. Magazine highlighted in its Inc. 5000 list, which features recognizable brands such as  and Levi Strauss. More than 180 metro Atlanta companies made the list, with Alpharetta's at No. 3.

The only Cartersville company on the list ranked No. 4,188. With $4.6 million in 2011 revenue and a three-year growth rate of 30 percent, the honor went to ShawHankins, which develops employee benefits plans for its clients, specializing in reducing and stabilizing employers' healthcare costs.

The South Bartow Street-based corporation with 42 employees, a Cartersville call center and 400 clients in the region also ranked No. 52 of the Top Insurance Companies included on the Inc. 5,000 list.

Last year, ShawHankins made the list at No. 3774, with nearly $4.2 million in 2010 revenue. Founded in 1963, it has added six jobs in the previous three years.
