Couple Accused Of Attacking Man At Cartersville Hotel
Cartersville police said surveillance footage showed the two suspects beating and kicking a man last week at the Parkway North hotel.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — A man and woman have been arrested and charged in connection to an attack on a man at a hotel in Cartersville. Police have arrested Markeith DeAngelo Lucious and Denise Joann Bowman following the Jan. 15 incident at the Parkway North hotel.
An officer with the Cartersville Police Department was dispatched around 3:20 p.m. to the hotel at 1400 Joe Frank Harris Parkway. He arrived to find a male, who was sitting on the ground, bleeding from the face. This male told the cop that he had been attacked by a man and that suspect's girlfriend with a chair, scissors and their hands and feet, according to a Cartersville Police Department incident report.
The man's wrist was swollen, bloody and bruised, the officer wrote in the report. He also had blood on his hands, face and the ground around him. The officer found a pair of broken scissors, which were missing a blade, at the scene, the report adds.

Bowman, who was at the scene, told police she tried to separate the two men during the altercation. However, the officer told Bowman that the complainant "gave a difference sequence of events" than what she said happened.
Bowman told the officer that Lucious was the other male involved in the fight, and he was last seen on foot walking towards McDonald's. Surveillance footage showed Lucious allegedly "initiate a fight" with the other male. According to the incident report, Lucious threw a plastic chair at the other male, who fell to the ground. Bowman is also seen on the video kicking the male repeatedly in the face with steel-toed boots, the report adds.
