Bartow History Museum is set to host guest speaker Justice Robert Benham. Â
Benham, a native of Cartersville, graduated from Summer Hill High School in Cartersville in 1963, Tuskegee University in 1967, and the University of Georgia Lumpkin School of Law in 1970. Â
He has worked with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society Inc., held a private practice, and served as Special Assistant Attorney General.Â

In 1989, Gov. Joe Frank Harris appointed him to the Supreme Court of Georgia and was later elected to a full term in 1990. He served as chief justice from 1995 to 2001 and continues to serve on the court today.
The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members. Â
