Man Wanders Around Elementary School Campus: Cartersville Crime
Teachers were trying to keep kids away from a man on campus and a group doesn't want to leave McDonalds in crime reports this week.
CARTERSVILLE, GA -- The Cartersville Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in the city. Arrests do not equal convictions.
- A 39-year-old woman was charged with driving without a valid license (misdemeanor) expired license plate, May 13.
- A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with felony theft by taking, May 13. The man, who was pulled over for a brake light out, had a warrant in Marietta.
- A 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged with possession of meth, criminal trespass and giving false name/age, May 14. Three others were given criminal trespass warnings after the group refused to leave a McDonalds.
- A 30-year-old man was arrested and charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement officers-misdemeanor; trespass on property criminal trespass and disorderly conduct, May 9. The man was walking around the campus of Cartersville Elementary School. According to the police report, the man initially ran from police and then stood in the road with traffic coming in both directions. The school principal said he had been walking around the school, sitting on the outside door of classrooms and walking in the playground where kids were playing at that time. Teachers were trying to get the kids back inside away from him due to his erratic behavior. The man was reportedly talking to himself and making strange body movements.
- A 59-year-old woman was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, May 10.
- A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession and use of drug related objects; possession of methamphetamine; and crossing guard lines, May 11.
- A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license misdemeanor; and fail to yield when enter/cross roadway after a car accident in the area of Euharlee Road and GA 61 (Highway 113), May 13.
