2 Stabbed at Senior Housing Facility by Fellow Resident, One Dead
One 76 year-old woman is dead after a double stabbing at a Senior Housing Facility

The Atlanta Police Department released details of a double stabbing that happened at Baptist Towers Apartments on Myrtle Street late Monday evening.
According to Officer Kim Jones, APD were notified that 2 people had been stabbed at approximately 10:57 pm, "once officers arrived they located one male victim outside the location with numerous lacerations to his face and chest. He was transported to Grady hospital in stable condition."
The second victim, 76 year-old Mary Oliver, was found in her apartment and, "pronounced deceased on scene from multiple stab wounds."
The victim's adult daughter told Fox5 that her mother was getting ready to celebrate her birthday today.(6/18)
The Atlanta Police Department told Cascade Patch that the suspect, Geary Otis, was, "located near the incident location on Myrtle Drive by officers." Officer Kim Jones went on to say, "Mr. Otis was covered in blood and carrying two large kitchen knives (with blood on them). Mr. Otis was taken into custody by the officers."
There has been no motive determined yet in this case. Geary Otis is said to have lived 3 floors above Mary Oliver, but "neither of the victims were involved in any type of a relationship with each other."
Apparently, police believe, Otis stabbed the man first then kicked in the door of Mary Oliver and also stabbed and killed her. Officer Kim Jones says that, "Otis was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and murder."
