Fire Station #25, on Benjamin E. Mays Drive Closed This Week for Repairs
The Atlanta Fire Department announced that Station #25 will have to close for a few days this week.
In a statement from Janet Ward, Public Relations Manager for Atlanta City Government, we learned that our famous fire station #25 will be closed next week during some repairs.
According to the released statement, "Fire Station #25, 2349 Benjamin E. Mays Drive SW, will be closed from Monday, April 29-Thursday, May 2, to facilitate replacement of the stationβs plumbing."
For those of us concerned about delayed response times in the area, the fire department says, that, "engine 25 will be reassigned to Fire Station #5 (2825 Campbellton Road SW), and Truck 25 will be reassigned to Fire Station #17 (1489 Ralph D. Abernathy Boulevard SW)."

Those reassignments should mean that the department will still have the same amount of resources in cases of emergency and that there should be no noticeable lapse in service.
The work at Fire Station #25 includes replacement of toilets and fixtures with low-flow models.
