Hit and Run Driver hits 9-year-old boy on Martin Luther King Dr.

Southwest Atlanta --  Police are looking for a hit and run driver who struck a 9-year-old boy while he was crossing Martin Luther King Dr., Wednesday afternoon. (5/16) 

According to a WSB report the police are looking for a gray Dodge Avenger and its driver who struck the boy as he and his friends were crossing the street.

The boy had no immediate injuries that were reported.

UPDATE: According to initial police reports, the mom stated that she was asleep when this all happened and that theives took her TV, computer and even the 9-year-old's Wii video game when she ran out the house to help.  Now the police have reported that the mother has been arrested and given the charge of Child Cruelty, since her story has changed.  It is unclear where or what the mother was doing at the time of the Hit & Run. APD is still looking for the car involved.
