During a special β€œAll In” moment, which promotes studying for higher education, the Atlanta Football Host Committee and College Football Playoff Foundation did the deed in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.

The school day started as any other, but when the student body and faculty took a break to congregate in the auditorium to be "All In," that's when Principal Richard Fowler, AFHC Executive Director Carl Adkins and former Atlanta Falcon Jerious Norwood launched the surprise.

β€œWe are grateful to the Atlanta Football Host Committee for this game-changing support. Our students and teachers work tirelessly all year and rarely get recognized,” Principal Fowler said in a statement. β€œThis is a perfect way to celebrate the end of the school year and to recognize our amazing staff and students who could really use a lift right now. Many thanks to the CFP Foundation as wellβ€”we’re ALL IN!”

The $50,000 donation will go toward student and teacher incentives to encourage participation in college-going culture activities. Also, the funding will be used for tech upgrades that support personalized and blended learning and new uniforms and equipment for band and athletics.

β€œThrough hosting the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship we have a phenomenal opportunity to impact Atlanta Public Schools and local teachers, said Carl Adkins, executive director of the Atlanta Football Host Committee. β€œBehind every successful student, you will find a teacher that has positively impacted and empowered their students to reach the next academic level and our goal is to recognize Atlanta’s hardworking teachers and continue promoting further education.”

The Atlanta Football Host Committee has facilitated "All In" moments at Atlanta Public Schools fin preparation for the College Football Playoff National Championship, which will be played at Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium in January 2018.
