Mays High's 9th Grade Class President Cascade's "Whiz Kid of the Week"
You'll go on an odyssey reading through 15-year-old Odyssey Wilson's impressive high school resume.
May High School 9th grader Odyssey Wilson drive to excel is a true inspiration, to teens and adults alike.
Her big sister, Teresa Wilson, says it best in her nomination of her baby sister:
"Odyssey's key to awesomeness is her determination to accomplish something," said Teresa Wilson, aΒ studentΒ atΒ The University of the Arts in Philadelphia.Β "Once she puts her mind to it, there is no changing it unless you have a really good argument (As her sister, I know this first hand)."

Not only is Odyssey (named for her father's mother, Odessa) a class leader, she is also an honor student and currently ranked second in her class. What is even more amazing is her schedule: after school, Odyssey has cheerleading practice, then Super Starz competitive cheer squad practice and then homework. She also is active in Junior ROTC at her school and has played soccer and softball.
Odyssey has a great support system, however. You might say sister, Teressa, andΒ other family members are her personal cheering squad.

"The goals she set for her self were not only because of her sisters, but she has a very supportive team that includes her mom, step-dad, and grandparents," Teressa Wilson said. "Every time she takes a trip to her grandparents home, her grandfather is constantly making sure her grades are excellent as well as her character."Β
Cascade Patch and the community are very proud of you, Odyssey!
