Meet Lisa Jamison, Atlanta Public School's Social Worker of the Year
Career goes back more than 20 years.
Atlanta Public Schools has namedΒ Booker T. Washington High School social worker Lisa JamisonΒ 2014 School Social Worker of the year.Β
As part National School Social Work Month,Β Jamison was recognized duringΒ anΒ event for school social workers hosted by APSβ Office ofΒ Student Support Services.
"We honor and thank all APS social workers who are vital to helping students achieve academicΒ success,"APS Coordinator of School Social Work Services Denise Revels said in a news release.

Jamison's social work career began more thanΒ 20 years ago.
"I salute all school social workers because we are all unsung heroes," said Jamison.Β "What I love about my job isΒ seeing a twinkle in a student's eye. That lets me know I have helped that student with something they needed to be successful both inside and outside of the classroom."
