Moms for School Choice Holding Backpack Drive for Kids in Need on 8/20, 4 p.m.

Moms for School Choice is a grassroots organization that exists to educate families about the availability of all school options for students.

Moms for School Choice, in collaboration with Hapeville Charter Career Academy, will host a backpack drive on Tuesday, August 20,2013 at 4:00 P.M., for high school-aged students. The event will be held at outside of Cascade Patch atΒ 6045 Buffington Road Building A in Union City.

The eventΒ was designed to show support for students and families in challenged communities by providing backpacks and much need school supplies, and award students who take the initiative to attend an organizational skills meeting with teachers and guest speakers from area businesses.

"College and Career Academies (CCAs) represent a unique opportunity to help prepare Georgia's students for successful college and career transitions, and they provide a unique focal point for engaging the business community as a partner in developing our 21st Century workforce,” says Mark Peevy, Executive Director, Secondary Education Initiatives.

β€œHapeville Charter Career Academy is a great example of the good work going on in Georgia's CCAs, and they are providing tremendous benefits to both their students and the surrounding business community as a result of their efforts".
