Motorist Killed in Single-Car Accident

A man was killed Saturday afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole.

Police said the victim, whose name was not released, was driving east on MLK at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle in the 4 p.m. incident

The car had come out of a cuve and the motorist tried to change lanes when he crossed over the double yellow lines careened into a telephone pole.

He was prononced at the scene.
