Fight at 50 Yard Line leads to 2 people shot

Cascade Patch has learned of 2 separate incidents, from Sunday night,Β involving gunfire and people being shot and rushed to the hospital.

The first incident occurred to a person who police say was completely innocent and minding his own business. Β According to a CBS Atlanta report, "a 49-year-old man was shot while driving through a neighborhood in southwest Atlanta looking for a family member Sunday night." Β The shots were fired from the lawn of a house on Birchberry Terrace, off of Campbellton Road.

Fulton County Police have not been able to figure out a motive, but were able to arrestΒ Steven Williams and charge himΒ with three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property and possession of a firearm during an attempt to commit certain felonies.Β 

The victim was in the car with two passengers, driving slowly through the neighborhood looking for a family member who suffers from mental illness. Β The family member had been wandering through the neighborhood and they were trying to locate them. Β The man who was shot was rushed to Grady in stable condition.

The second incident involves multiple wounded after a fight and subsequent shooting in the parking lot of 50 Yard Line Sports Bar along Old National Highway. According to WSB, who spoke to Fulton County police officials, "an argument between a group of men near a south Fulton County bar ended with two people shot early Monday morning."

Fulton County Police say that one man was shot in the stomach and another in the leg. Β The man shot in the stomach received a life-threatening injury and his current status is unknown. Β Fulton County Police have not confirmed any arrests yet in this case.
