Atlanta Police Investigators are searching for any clues that can lead them to a shooter that shot and killed a woman late Tuesday night.
Apparently, the early information APD released to the media panned out to be inaccurate after further investigations. APD originally said that an unknown person shot into a truck as it stopped to pickup a hitchhiker, near North Ave. and James P. Brawley. Now APD Investigators are telling Cascade Patch that, "at this point in the investigation, we have concluded that NO hitch hiker was picked up or involved NOR was the shooting a random act of violence."
The woman was shot in the chest, and was taken to 548 Northside Dr (Chevron Gas Station) to get help. APD says the woman was then transported to Grady Hospital, where she died.
According to Sgt. Greg Lyon, "the investigation is still ongoing and active at this time."
