Photos: West End Tour of Homes Event

The Historic West End has been a community of its own since the late 1830's.  At that time it was named White Hall, and was considered prime location because of its easy access to the railroad line and the city of Atlanta.

The area was later named West End by a speculator, after the theatre district in London.

It was one of the most integrated communities throughout the early 20th century and became an affluent black business and educational center in the mid to late 1900's.

What makes the West End unique is that some of the architecture is Queen Anne style, while some other homes are Craftsman style bungalows with a more updated feel.

The West End Tour of Homes does its best to showcase recently purchased homes and homes currently on the market to the public so that people can see the most recent changes within the community and at the same time showing off its great sense of style.

With the Beltline on its way through the West End and the proximity to downtown Atlanta and every major highway, the West End District is a valuable neighborhood and protected by its official 'Historic' status.
