Police Seeking "Person of Interest" in Associate Pastor Slaying

Police have released pictures of a "person of interest" in the murder of accountant and Providence Missionary Baptist Church associate pastor Derek Moses, 56, and they are asking for community help in identifying the man.

The surveillance images were taken at a store on Sylvan Road according to Atlanta Police spokesman Carlos Campos.

Campos said in an e-mail statement that police "are not releasing at this time how we located this video, or why we believe this is a person of interest."Β

However, Campos said residents can send tips to police atΒ Crime Stoppers Atlanta by calling 404-577-TIPS (8477), texting CSA Tips to CRIMES (274637) or submitting a tip online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.Β 

Moses was foundΒ dead shortly before 10 a.m. Mon., March 28, inside an office at a home at 2009 Cascade Rd. where he worked as an accountant with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Atlanta Police Detective Summer Benton told WSB-TV in a report Monday that the victim’s vehicleβ€”a navy blue 2002 BMW 530i with a golf tagβ€”was taken immediately after he was shot in the face at 1 p.m. on Saturday March 26.Β 

Authorities also are asking anyone who saw a car that fits the description between March 26 and March 28 to contact Crime Stoppers.
