More than 60 people (and counting) are lining up Wednesday to put themselves in position to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year.

ATLANTA, GA -- More than 60 people lined up early Wednesday to put themselves in position to win free Chick-fil-A meals for a year. That was the scene outside the restaurant's newest Atlanta location -- 3725 Cascade Road, just off Interstate 285. The eatery is set to open Thursday, where free meals for the first 100 customers will be awarded.

Eager participants were registering -- they must be at least age 18 and live within certain ZIP codes around the restaurant -- and began to set up camp in the parking lot for the 24-hour wait.

At 10 a.m.. Tuesday, they will get an opportunity to help package 10,000 meals that will go to the needy through the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

The franchise is owned by Rory Woodfaulk, who is encouraging participants to help package meals for Feeding Children Everywhere and to help with a children’s book drive at the new restaurant to benefit the Andrew & Walter Young YMCA in Atlanta. New and gently used books will be collected from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., April 26-27, at the restaurant and placed in a 3-foot Book House that will serve as a free library exchange for the community.
