Some Job Markets Are Strong in City of Atlanta
Metro Atlanta's unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in June.

Even though metro Atlantaβs unemployment rate rose in June, there are some job markets that are strong throughout the city of Atlanta.Β
βWe have seen an increase in temp-to-perm orders and customers hiring on directly,β said Emily Carlson, senior area vice president for Randstad. βContracts for candidates that are on the contract to hire process are being bought out early, so the client can get them onto their payroll quicker.β
The state labor department reported last week that metro Atlantaβs unemployment rate rose to 8.9 percent in June, compared to Mayβs 8.2 percent.

βWe have seen in increase in accounting and administrative support positions,β Carlson said. βItβs becoming a candidate's market where they have choices when choosing their next job. Β
βQuality candidates are getting off the market sooner, so employers needs to be ready to hire when they meet the candidate of choice. And companies are increasing efforts on retention so they can keep their top employees.β
