Summerhill Native, Mattie Terrell Mero, Celebrates 90th Birthday at her Washington High Alma Mater
The former student turns 90 and wishes to celebrate at her old high school.
On Wednesday evening, community members, friends, family, and Council-members will gather at Washington High School to celebrate a former student's 90th birthday party.
Mattie Terrell Mero was born in Summerhill almost a century ago, and is returning to her Alma Mater, Washington High, to celebrate her birthday. The party, wishing the Class of 1940 a Happy Birthday, is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 3rd at Washington High School.
A proclamation from Atlanta City Council will be read, along with cake and light refreshments.
