By now everyone has seen and experienced the detour on Cascade Road at Wilson Mill Road.
Just as a reminder, Fulton County says that the "repairs are expected to be complete and the road re-opened by September 1, 2013."
Traffic going past Wilson Mill Road is currently detoured using New Hope Road and Danforth Road.
HomeRuleNews reported earlier in May that, "in September 2009, a 12-inch water main break, resulting from the floodwaters created a 20-foot sinkhole at the intersection of Cascade Road and Wilson Mill Road. During repair of the 12-inch water main by the City of Atlanta, county officials determined that the arched concrete culvert structure had shifted and after further investigation, that the culvert had a major crack that needs immediate attention. County officials allocated back then $150,000 to assess the true condition of the culvert."
Important MARTA note: "MARTA Route 71 (Cascade) terminates at the apartments thus service is unaffected by the detour."
