• Former ‘Teacher of the Year' accused of ‘pounding' middle schooler in head, stomach more than 20 times (nypost.com) — Parents in Conyers should know a Conyers Middle School teacher has been arrested and barred from the classroom after authorities say he repeatedly struck a 13-year-old student earlier this month. Rockdale County deputies and school officials are investigating, and the student’s family has hired an attorney and is considering legal action. Charges include simple battery and multiple counts of cruelty to children.
