Body Discovered by Boater on Lake Lanier

GAINESVILLE, GA — Police found the body of a woman Saturday night in the water near Lanier Point Park, according to Gainesville Police.

The body was taken to the crime lab for an autopsy to determine if foul play was involved.

Two boaters spotted the body Saturday afternoon, police told the media.

The woman may be Lizeth Ruiz, a missing 23-year-old Gainesville resident, according to CBS46.

The area where the body was located is the same location where investigators have been searching for the missing jogger, according to 11Alive.
