Christmas Tree Recycling Underway

Forsyth County's three recycling convenience centers and one elementary school are now accepting trees for mulching.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA -- Keep Forsyth County Beautiful has announced the dates and locations for its annual “Bring one for the Chipper” Christmas tree recycling event.

Recycling begins the day after Christmas at Vickery Creek Elementary, the Tolbert Street Recycling Convenience Center, the Old Atlanta Recycling Convenience Center, and the Coal Mountain Recycling Center.

  • Vickery Creek Elementary School - 6280 Post Road: Accepting trees December 26 through January 2, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please, no trees at this site after 4 p.m. on January 2
  • Tolbert Street Recycling Convenience Center - 351 Tolbert Street: Open Monday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Accepting trees starting at 1 p.m. on December 26 through January 30
  • Old Atlanta Recycling Convenience Center - 3678 Old Atlanta Road: Open Monday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Accepting trees starting at 1 p.m. on December 26 through January 30
  • Coal Mountain Recycling Center - 3560 Settingdown Road: Open Monday - Saturday, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Accepting trees starting at 1 p.m. December 26 through January 30

The Home Depots on Market Place Boulevard and Peachtree Parkway will accept trees for recycling between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 2.

The county recycling convenience centers will be closed Jan. 1 in observance of New Year’s Day and Jan. 18 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Recycled trees will be turned into wood chips that can be picked up by any Forsyth County resident from the Coal Mountain Recycling Center on Settingdown Road.
