Forsyth County Schools To Close Due To Expected Inclement Weather

A tropical storm warning is in effect for Forsyth County. A flash flood watch remains in effect also through Thursday evening.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — Forsyth County Schools will be closed on Thursday due to expected inclement weather, district officials announced.

According to district officials, there will be no online learning due to projected widespread power outages. All activities and athletics for Oct. 29 are also cancelled. Forsyth County Schools 240-day employees should report if or when it is safe to travel.

According to the National Weather Service, a tropical storm warning is in effect for Forsyth County. A tropical storm warning means tropical storm-force winds are expected in parts of north Georgia.

A flash flood watch remains in effect also through Thursday evening.

The remnants of Hurricane Zeta will produce heavy rain in excess of two to four inches with locally higher amounts. Additionally, minor flooding of rivers, creeks, and streams is
expected, with isolated moderate flooding possible.
