Forsyth County to Host Electronics Recycling Event

The one-day recycling event this weekend at the Cumming Fairgrounds.

Forsyth County residents it's time to dust off your old computer monitors, cell phones and VCRs and bring those items to the electronics recycling event Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Cumming Fairgrounds’ parking lot 3 off of Castleberry Road.

The program hosted by will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Keep Forsyth County Beautiful ” said Environmental Program Manager Tammy Wright in a news release. “These events provide an opportunity for citizens to get rid of those unwanted electronics around their house, and to do so in an environmentally-friendly way.”

ACCEPTABLE ITEMS FOR RECYCLING:

  • Computers
  • Stereos
  • CD players
  • Cell phones
  • Microwaves
  • Cameras

UNACCEPTABLE ITEMS:

  • Large wooden console televisions
  • Toaster ovens
  • Refrigerators

The minimum donation per carload for drop-off is $5 while an additional $10 fee will apply for all televisions.
