Cianne, who discovered she wanted to become a writer at 14, says the idea for the book started off as a playful school activity until her imagination took over. From that point on the story took on a life of its own.

"I have loved to write since I was in middle school, short stories and poetry," she told Cumming Patch. "Once I got the idea for this story in my head I couldn’t stop writing, I became very focused and once I finished it I really thought it would be great to have it published."
