Music Midtown Returns Saturday
After a six-year hiatus, Music Midtown returns Saturday with Coldplay headlining.
, which ran 12 times from 1994 to 2005, returns to (about 37 miles from downtown Cumming) Saturday.
The one-day festival will run from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, admission is $55 and the first band plays at 1 p.m.
Organizers estimate the festival will bring 60,000 people. There will be two stages and ten artists performing at the event including,

Festival goers are encouraged to take MARTA. There will be extended hours during the event; trains will run until 1 a.m. on Saturday.

- The three east-bound lanes of 10th Street between Charles Allen Drive and Monroe Drive (the ones closest to Grady High School) will be used for two-way traffic while the two west-bound lane (the ones closest to Piedmont Park) will be closed. These lanes will remain closed until the festival completes load-out on Monday, Sept. 26 at midnight.
- Now until Sunday, Sept. 25 at midnight, the east-bound curb lane (parking lane) of Charles Allen Drive from 8th street to 10th street will be closed.
- On Friday, Sept. 23 from midnight through 6 a.m. one lane of 10th Street from Charles Allen to Piedmont Avenue (on the side closest to Piedmont Park) will be closed. There will be access to the Post Parkside Parking Lot and retail parking lot at all times. This lane will remain closed until Saturday, Sept. 24 from 6 a.m. There will be access to the Post Parkside Parking Lot and retail parking lot at all times.
- On Saturday, Sep. 24 from 6 a.m. to Sunday, Sept. 25 at midnight, 10th Street between Piedmont Ave and Monroe Drive will be closed to non-resident traffic. APD will provide intermittent traffic control for ADA, emergency vehicle and MARTA access during this time.
- On Sunday, Sept. 25, 10th Street between Charles Allen Drive and Monroe Drive will be closed for load-out of the festival infrastructure (stage, tents, etc) from midnight to 11 p.m. APD will be onsite to allow intermittent traffic flow for all vehicles during this period. Traffic will be allowed to move freely as long as there is not pedestrian traffic or production vehicles/equipment actively loading out.
