  1. Frank Ferrara has been appointed as the senior project executive for the stadium component of "The Gathering at South Forsyth," a massive mixed-use entertainment development in Forsyth County. The project is creating a cutting-edge arena that will anchor the district and serve as a world-class entertainment destination. Ferrara, with a background in sports operations, financial management, and strategic planning, brings experience from overseeing athletic departments and leading the development of facilities such as ice hockey arenas.   2. Uncle Shucks Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch is set to open in nearby Dawsonville on Sep. 16 for the 2023 season, featuring a fresh maze design and theme highlighting Georgia's endangered species.   4. Paul Marks of Cumming, claimed victory in the two-day Phoenix Bass Fishing League Super Tournament on Lake Lanier, capturing six bass weighing a total of 25 pounds, seven ounces. This event marked the fifth and final regular-season competition for the Bass Fishing League Bulldog Division. Marks won $13,871 for his triumph, which included a $7,000 Phoenix MLF contingency bonus. His strategy involved targeting bass in 20-50 feet of water near Browns Bridge using a Damiki rig with a Picasso Speed Drop Jig Head and a minnow-imitating plastic bait. (The Bass Cast)
