North Forsyth High Student in Jail After Terroristic Threats

A 17-year-old North Forsyth High student has been charged with one count of terroristic threats.

A student a was arrested after allegedly making terroristic threats on Facebook against other students, according to authorities.

Justin T. Shafter, 17, of Bennett Road in Cumming, has been charged with one count of terroristic threats and is currently being held in the.

said a School Resource Officer at the high school was contacted Wednesday morning and told that a student was making threats on his Facebook page against fellow students.

“Our School Resource Officer immediately contacted the school administration and his supervisors regarding the threats, said Sheriff Paxton. "The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation and removed the student from school immediately."

No weapons were found on Shafter when he was removed from the school.

"At no time were any students ever in danger," Sheriff Paxton said. " [Chardon High Shooting in Ohio], we take any hint of threats against students and our school system seriously. We will deal with these situations in a rapid manner, thoroughly investigating anything that could bring danger to our community."

The investigation into the threats is underway.
