Patch Wants to See Your Twizzler Challenge

Cumming residents, a new fundraising campaign is sweeping the nation and Patch wants to see you participate.

It’s called the Twizzler Challenge and it might become the next ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, TIME reports.

If the Twizzler Challenge looks to top the Ice Bucket Challenge, it has some big and expensive shoes to fill.

The Ice Bucket Challenge, created by Pete Frates of Beverly, MA, raised about $115 million for The ALS Association.

The Twizzler Challenge was created to help to raise awareness and funding for Autism through New York Collaborates for Autism. It comes just in time for April, which is Autism Awareness Month.

Don’t know what the Twizzler Challenge is? Think of that memorable spaghetti scene in “Lady and the Tramp.” Now substitute the spaghetti and add a piece of red licorice.

Although the Twizzler Challenge is less physically demanding than the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, the germaphobes might want to steer clear of participating.
