Police: Car Break-In Suspect Drops Loot, Handgun in Attempt to Flee

Timothy Eric Gibson was reportedly seen breaking into a car and stealing items inside.

Forsyth County officials arrested a Cumming man over the weekend after the suspect reportedly broke into a vehicle to rob it.

Timothy Eric Gibson, 39, was arrested after he attempted to flee from deputies, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

This is the 12th time Gibson has been jailed in Forsyth County since 1996, according to Forsyth County News.

In Sunday’s incident, officials say Gibson was seen dressed in black, breaking into a car at a residence near Mary Alice Park Road. Gibson reportedly attempted to run away from the deputies and dropped stolen items from the car and a handgun as he ran.

Gibson was tased and taken into custody after the brief chase, according to deputies.

Gibson was charged with four counts of entering auto, two counts of obstruction of officers, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Gibson also had a warrant in Forsyth County for a court order violation.
