Vickery Creek Elementary School Counselor Finalist for National Honor
Vickery Creek Elementary School counselor Anne Ogilvy has been named one of six finalists for the School Counselor of the Year award.

Anne Ogilvy, a counselor at , has been named as one of the six finalists in the United States for the 2012 American School Counselors Association (ASCA) School Counselor of the Year.
"The students, staff and parents at Vickery Creek ES are so proud of Mrs. Ogilvy," said Ron McAllister, principal. "She is committed to delivering a comprehensive, data driven school counseling program and an exemplary educational environment for all stakeholders."
Ogilvy, who has a Master's degree in educational counseling and a Bachelor's degree in psychology, has been an elementary school counselor in Forsyth County Schools for nine years.

"It is an honor to represent the VCE counseling department and Forsyth County Schools at the national level," said Ogilvy. "This recognition represents the remarkable impact that Forsyth County School counselors have in the lives of our students.
Ogilvy was named 2011 Georgia Elementary School Counselor of the Year, as well as Forsyth County's 2010 Elementary School Counselor of the Year. In 2007 and 2009 she was the recipient of the American School Counselors Association (ASCA) RAMP Award. Additionally, she has worked as a counselor in Nevada and North Carolina.

"I love working with our children and guiding them to reach their fullest potential," said Ogilvy. "My goal is to use my skills to help them through this journey so that they can live a happy fulfilling life."
Ogilvy will visit Washington, D.C. Feb. 1-3, 2012 with the five other national finalists, in conjunction with National Counseling Week. The group will represent ASCA in meetings with members of Congress, tour the nation’s capital and be honored at the School Counselor of the Year black-tie awards gala at Union Station.
ASCA's School Counselor of the Year program honors the best of the best – school counselors who are running a top-notch, comprehensive school counseling program at either the elementary, middle or high school level.
