Woman Hit by Jeep in Johns Creek, Later Dies from Injuries

Charges are not expected to be taken against the driver.

A pedestrian was killed after she was struck by a jeep in Johns Creek Wednesday night, authorities said.

Suzanne Davies, 48, was walking in the roadway westbound on McGinnis Ferry Road between Sargent Road and Hospital Parkway in south Forsyth County around 7:30 p.m.

She was hit from behind by a 2008 Jeep Wrangler driven by William Bitterman, 38, of Carrollton who entered the turn lane. The driver immediately stopped and tried to help Davies, according to Investigator Ron Tomblin of the .

A deputy, who was already in the area, arrived on the scene to assist in the accident.

Davies who was wearing dark clothing and walking in an area that is not well lit, was transported by ambulance to where she died from her injuries, said Tomblin.

Charges are not expected to be taken against Bitterman, but the incident remains under investigation.
