- A Gwinnett County Public Schools educator has been named the 2022-2023 Georgia Alternative Teacher of the Year. James Leak, an eighth- and ninth-grade Language Arts teacher, was presented the award by the Georgia Association of Alternative Education. The award is meant to recognize a teacher who is exceptional, dedicated, and inspiring to students of all backgrounds. (Subscription: Gwinnett Daily Post)
- The two murder suspects accused of killing Elijah DeWitt appeared in court on Friday for a preliminary hearing. The hearing was at the Gwinnett County Jail. Kemare Bryan, 18 years old, and Chandler Richardson, 19 years old, first appeared in front of a judge on Oct. 12. (Fox 5 Atlanta)
- Two murder suspects wanted by Gwinnett County Police were arrested in Walton County, Florida on Thursday night. The arrests were made near County Road 283 by the Walton County Sheriff's Office. The identities of the suspects have not been released yet. (WEARTV)
